Ranchi: IAS Ramesh Gorakh Gholap (2012 batch) has been promoted from Additional Secretary to Special Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Jharkhand.
The Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms & Official Language announced the promotion, entrusting him with a key role in driving the Jal Jeevan Mission across the state.
Gholap has been serving in the same department and previously oversaw the rollout of drinking water schemes in both rural and urban areas. His promotion highlights the government’s trust in his ability to lead mission-focused governance.
During his field postings as District Collector in Khunti, Bermo, and Koderma, Gholap earned praise for his people-centric approach. He led efforts to rescue over 35 children from child labour and ensured they were rehabilitated through education.
As Deputy Commissioner of Chatra, a Naxal-affected district, he worked to improve voter turnout by organizing awareness campaigns and grassroots engagement.
In his new role, Gholap will focus on expanding access to clean drinking water and improving sanitation infrastructure across Jharkhand.
