New Delhi: In a key administrative move, the Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed IPS Usha Rangnani, a 2011-batch officer from the AGMUT cadre, as Deputy Director General (DIG) in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D).Â
Her appointment is on deputation and follows standard central government procedures.
Rangnani brings to her new role a strong background in administration and field operations. Known for her effectiveness across various postings in the AGMUT cadre, she is expected to play a vital role in national-level policing policy, research initiatives, and modernization efforts at BPR&D.
Meanwhile, in a reshuffle within the Delhi Police, 2007-batch IPS officer Vijay Yogi has been appointed as the Joint Commissioner of Police, Eastern Range. He previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in West and South Delhi, where he was recognized for his strong crime control measures and effective policing.
As Joint Commissioner of the Eastern Range, he will oversee one of Delhi’s most dynamic zones, focusing on maintaining law and order, crime prevention, and public outreach in densely populated areas.
