Aizawl: The Government of Mizoram has launched the digital DiasporaHub in a bid to strengthen global ethnic connections.
This comprehensive digital platform was designed to connect and coordinate with Mizo communities residing across the world.
The portal was jointly developed by the Mizo Diaspora Cell under the CM’s office and the local tech firm LushAITech.
The Mizo Diaspora Cell was initially formed on 11 June 2024 to track and respond to challenges faced by Mizos living abroad.
The Mizo DiasporaHub now offers a scalable framework to expand this mandate. Different Mizo welfare associations can now register in the portal.
Individual registration will be introduced in the next phase. The platform enables diaspora associations to communicate with each other.
These associations can access support tools, coordinate relief and advocacy efforts. The portal can trigger officials to respond to emergencies, maintain cultural ties and extend government assistance when necessary.
The launch coincides with increasing migration among Mizos particularly from neighbouring Myanmar due to political instability.
