New Delhi: Tesla has enabled online bookings for its vehicles across India, allowing residents in 34 states and union territories to place orders directly through its official website. While orders are open nationwide, the company will prioritise initial deliveries in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram.
The automaker has officially launched its Model Y SUV in India, marking its first product offering in the country. The rear-wheel drive variant is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the long-range version is listed at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, inclusive of applicable state taxes and incentives).
Deliveries for the rear-wheel drive model are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2025, followed by the long-range variant in the fourth quarter. Bookings require an upfront, non-refundable deposit of Rs 22,220, with an additional Rs 3,00,000 to be paid within seven days of placing the order.
Optional features include Full Self-Driving capability for Rs 6,00,000, special paint options, a FASTag charge of Rs 800, and an administrative fee of Rs 50,000. All bookings must be made exclusively through Tesla’s website.
Tesla has inaugurated its first showroom in India, branded as the Tesla Experience Centre at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The space showcases the company’s product ecosystem, incorporating global design elements with Indian cultural nuances. The centre was designed under the leadership of Neeta Sharada, Chief Architect for Tesla India.
At present, Tesla is importing all vehicles into India, and there are no official announcements regarding domestic manufacturing. Pricing is subject to change based on import duties and regulatory conditions. Deliveries will be coordinated either to customer residences or via regional hubs.
