Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh is set to sign 410 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 9.8 lakh crore at the upcoming CII Partnership Summit scheduled for November 14–15 in Visakhapatnam. According to IT Minister Nara Lokesh, the proposed investments are expected to create around 7.5 lakh jobs across the state, with a focus on balanced regional development and youth employment.
The two-day summit, organised in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), aims to bring together government bodies, corporate leaders, and investors to strengthen the state’s industrial and employment ecosystem. Lokesh described the event as part of Andhra Pradesh’s broader plan to generate 20 lakh jobs and expand industrial growth beyond traditional hubs.
Ahead of the summit, the Hinduja Group announced an investment commitment of Rs 20,000 crore following a meeting between Group representatives and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in London. The proposed projects include expansion of the company’s 1,040 MW Visakhapatnam power plant by an additional 1,600 MW, alongside new renewable energy initiatives in the Rayalaseema region to boost the state’s clean energy capacity.
The Group also plans to enhance its electric bus and light-vehicle manufacturing facility at Mallavalli, near Vijayawada, and establish a network of electric vehicle charging stations across Andhra Pradesh. These projects are part of the state’s broader industrial strategy to attract diversified investments in energy, manufacturing, and mobility sectors, aligning with its goal of decentralised and sustainable economic development.
