New Delhi: The Central government has given additional responsibilities to two senior IAS officers during the leave of incumbent secretaries. IAS Debashree Mukherjee (1991 batch), currently Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has been given additional charge as Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
Mukherjee’s temporary assignment will be in effect till 16th November, 2025, during the leave of IAS Subhas Chandra Lal Das (1992 batch), the regular Secretary of the MSME Ministry. She has previously worked in several key positions at both central and state levels. She has been involved in governance reforms, infrastructure planning, and strengthening India’s skill ecosystem.
Similarly, IAS Vineet Joshi (1992 batch), Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, till 16th November 2025.
Joshi will take on this temporary responsibility during the leave of IAS Sanjay Kumar (1990 batch). Known for his earlier tenure as Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Joshi has played a key role in educational reforms and policy implementation across the school and higher education sectors.
