New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle at the Joint Secretary and equivalent levels, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued a new order appointing 16 officers from various services, cadres, and batches to important positions across ministries and departments. The list includes six IAS officers, with several high-profile transfers aimed at strengthening administrative leadership in critical sectors.
According to the order, IAS Jai Prakash Shivhare (2002 batch), belonging to the Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India.
His tenure will be for five years. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).
Other key appointments include
- IAS Vikas Gupta (2001 batch): Appointed as Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), under the Department of School Education and Literacy, for a five-year tenure.Â
- IAS Shruti Singh (2004 batch): Appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, for a tenure of five years.Â
- IAS Neeraj Kharwal (2007 batch): Appointed as Managing Director (JS Level), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), under the Department of Commerce, for a tenure of five years.
- IAS Brij Mohan Mishra (2008 batch): Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, for an overall tenure of five years up to November 16, 2026, replacing IRS Amitabh Kumar.
- IAS Harsh Mangla (2008 batch): Appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, for a five-year tenure up to January 24, 2027. He replaces IAS Latha Ganapathy (2007 batch).
This reshuffle reflects the government’s continued focus on placing experienced officers in key administrative and policy-making roles. The appointments aim to bring fresh leadership to strategic departments, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and better service delivery across sectors.
