New Delhi: Amit Kumar, an officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) from the 2014 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel in New Delhi.Â
His posting falls under the Central Staffing Scheme and will last for four years from the day he takes charge or until further orders. The Department of Defence recommended his name for this assignment.
The order states that Kumar should be released from his current role right away so he can join the Ministry of Steel without delay. His move is part of the government’s regular process of placing trained officers in important roles across ministries. The aim is to boost administrative work and support policy execution.
Kumar’s experience in financial and administrative matters is expected to help the ministry manage its ongoing projects and upcoming priorities.
