New Delhi: The Rajasthan government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) AI-powered language translation platform, Bhashini, to make e-governance services available in local languages and dialects across the state.
The agreement, signed at the Bhamashah Data Centre in Jaipur, aims to promote linguistic inclusivity by integrating Bhashini’s AI translation tools with Rajasthan’s digital governance systems. The initiative will enable citizens to access government services and digital platforms in their native languages, thereby strengthening digital inclusion and accessibility across the state’s diverse population.
Announcing the collaboration, Bhashini posted on social media, “Honoured to join hands with the Government of Rajasthan to make eGovernance truly speak the people’s language! Together, we’re building a digitally inclusive Rajasthan where technology empowers every citizen in their own language.”
Rajasthan’s Cabinet Minister, Col Rajyavardhan Rathore, lauded the partnership as a step towards digital self-reliance. “Swadeshi code, Bhartiya Bhasha, Jan Jan Ki Takneek. Rajasthan takes a proud step towards building a Digital Bharat that is Atmanirbhar. The MoU between the Department of IT&C, Rajasthan and Bhashini of MeitY will enable technology to speak the diverse dialects of Rajasthan, bringing the power of AI and digital public infrastructure to every citizen,” he said.
Through this collaboration, Rajasthan becomes one of the first states to operationalise Bhashini’s multilingual AI framework in governance, aligning with the National Language Translation Mission’s goal to make India’s digital ecosystem truly multilingual and citizen-centric.
