Kolkata: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education will resume the teacher recruitment process across state-aided primary schools after an 8-year hiatus.
The online portal is opening today to receive applications from TET-qualified candidates.
Plans are in place to fill 13,421 vacancies in primary schools. Once the state school education department gives the nod, the actual exercise will start.
Once the recruitment by the primary board and SSC is over, nearly 50,000 teachers will be appointed by year-end.
Teacher recruitment at state-aided primary schools was last conducted in 2017.
