New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a wide-ranging set of senior-level appointments and in-situ upgradations across multiple ministries and departments of the Government of India.
The decisions, cleared on 30 December, cover appointments at the levels of Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, Director General, Chairman and Managing Director and other key leadership roles.
Among the appointments, Suchindra Misra (IDAS:92) has been appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, by temporarily upgrading a vacant Additional Secretary post.
Dilip Kumar (IAS: PB:95) has been appointed Director General (Training) in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in the rank of Additional Secretary.
In the telecom sector, Shyamal Misra (IAS: HY:96) has been appointed Administrator, Digital Bharat Nidhi, Department of Telecommunications.
Srikant Nagulapalli (IAS: AP:98) has been named Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Several key appointments were also approved in commerce and trade.
Lav Aggarwal (IAS: AP:96) has been appointed Director General, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Rabindra Kumar Agarwal (IAS: KL:97) has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director, Food Corporation of India.
Ashutosh Agnihotri (IAS: AM:99) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Meanwhile, Aneeta C. Meshram (IAS: UP:96) has been appointed Additional Secretary, President’s Secretariat.
Caralyn Khongwar Deshmukh (IAS: MP:96) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Rakesh Gupta (IAS: HY:97) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
The ACC also cleared appointments in labour, education and finance.
Sonal Mishra (IAS: GJ:97) has been appointed Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Anandrao Vishnu Patil (IAS: TN:98) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education.
Ajoy Sharma (IAS: PB:99) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Further appointments include Solomon Arokiaraj (IAS: AP:2000) as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Niranjan Kr. Sudhansu (IAS: MH:2000) as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Vandana Jain (CSS:91) as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Culture.
In the power, defence, energy and northeastern development sectors, D. Saibaba (IRSME:92) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Satinder Kumar Bhalla (ITS:92) as Secretary, North Eastern Council Secretariat, and Dinesh Mahur (ITS:92) as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence Production. Mayank Tiwari (IRSME:93) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
Further appointments were also approved in women and child development, consumer affairs, social justice and defence. Ballepu Radhika Chakravarthy (IPoS:96) has been appointed Additional Secretary, National Commission for Women, Anita Karn (IFoS: GJ:97) as Additional Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution, and Debolina Thakur (IA&AS:98) as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
According to the notification, Asit Gopal (IFoS: MP:90) has been upgraded to Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Textiles. Ramesh Krishnamurthi (IRS: IT:92) has been upgraded to Central Provident Fund Commissioner in the rank of Secretary.
Additional in-situ upgradations to the rank of Additional Secretary were approved for officers.
