New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated multiple projects to enhance critical care and mental health infrastructure in the capital.
Upgraded ICU and Endoscopy Facilities at GTB Hospital
The CM inaugurated a 10-bed medical ICU ward and a GI HD Video Endoscopy Suite at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
The new ICU is equipped with advanced machines and upgraded facilities to ensure timely and quality treatment for critically ill patients.
The GI HD Video Endoscopy Suite will support faster and more accurate diagnosis of gastrointestinal and digestive disorders, enabling early detection and prompt treatment.
Gupta said the government is working in mission mode to upgrade Delhi’s health services to world-class standards and transform the Capital’s healthcare system.
She added that efforts would be made to strengthen the nearly 1,500-bed capacity of GTB Hospital by expediting construction of its rear building, which had remained incomplete earlier.
Foundation Stone for New IHBAS OPD Building
The CM also laid the foundation stone for a new OPD building at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences. She described IHBAS as a leading centre for mental healthcare in the country and North India, stating that the new OPD building would help reduce waiting time and streamline consultations, diagnostics, and treatment amidst rising patient load.
Integrated AYUSH Stress Management Programme
The government also launched an Integrated AYUSH Stress Management Programme to address rising stress levels across age groups. OPDs will be operationalised at key institutions, focusing on yoga, lifestyle counselling, and digital detox interventions.
Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to accessible, modern and high-quality healthcare in the Capital.
