Noida, May 26 (APAC Media): Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices in Delhi were increased by Rs 2 per kilogram on Tuesday, marking the fourth hike within the last 15 days and adding to the financial burden on commuters and transport operators across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Following the latest revision, the price of CNG in Delhi has risen to approximately Rs 83.09 per kg. The new rates came into effect from 6 am and were simultaneously implemented in neighbouring NCR cities, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad.

The repeated increase in CNG prices comes amid rising global crude oil and natural gas prices triggered by ongoing geopolitical tensions and supply uncertainties in international energy markets. Fuel retailers said higher procurement costs forced the latest revision in domestic retail prices.

This is the fourth increase in May, with earlier hikes announced on May 15, May 18 and May 23. During this period, CNG prices have risen steadily by Rs 1 to Rs 2 per kg at a time, significantly impacting daily operating costs for commercial transport services.
Auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators and delivery service providers expressed concern over the continuous rise in fuel prices, saying their earnings are being affected as operational expenses continue to climb.
Several transport associations warned that passenger fares may eventually have to be revised if fuel prices continue to increase.
CNG has long been considered a cheaper and cleaner alternative to petrol and diesel in Delhi, where a large section of public and private transport depends on the fuel. However, the latest price hikes have narrowed the cost advantage for consumers.
The increase also comes at a time when petrol and diesel prices have witnessed multiple upward revisions across the country, contributing to inflationary pressure on household budgets and transportation costs.
Analysts believe domestic fuel prices may remain volatile in the coming weeks depending on global energy market trends.
