New Delhi, June 3 (APAC Media): The government on Tuesday appointed IAS Lokhande Prashant Sitaram as the new Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Sitaram is a 2001-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre and is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the appointment.
The reshuffle came hours after the government ordered a high-level probe into the procurement of services for the OSM system and constituted a one-member committee to examine the matter.
Senior IAS officer Rahul Singh, who previously served as Chairperson of CBSE, has now been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
