New Delhi, June 9(CXO Media): Tata Consultancy Services has launched a new business unit aimed at helping enterprises set up and transform Global Capability Centres with artificial intelligence at the core.
GVIC Launch
Tata Consultancy Services has introduced its Global Value & Innovation Centres (GVIC) unit to support companies building AI-native GCCs or upgrading existing offshore centres. The company said the model is designed to shift GCCs from cost-focused delivery hubs to units that drive product development, platforms, and business outcomes.
The GVIC offering will cover the full lifecycle of GCC development, including strategy, setup, operations, and AI-led transformation. It will integrate AI systems, cloud infrastructure, enterprise platforms, and governance frameworks into GCC operations.
Leadership Appointment
As part of the launch, TCS has appointed Soumen Roy to lead the new unit. He previously served as Country Head for TCS Canada and has over three decades of experience across global markets. He will report to CEO and MD K. Krithivasan.
AI-Driven GCC Strategy
TCS said the new model focuses on embedding AI into GCC design and operations through a “human + AI” approach. It will also leverage internal platforms such as COIN™ and Pace™ to support co-innovation and talent development.
The company added that GCC investments are increasing globally as enterprises look to centralise technology, data, and product engineering capabilities. With this shift, firms are expected to rely more on partners that can deliver scalable AI and cloud-based operating models.
TCS currently works with more than 150 global enterprises across industries in building and managing GCCs.
