New Delhi, August 6(APAC Media): Bajaj General Insurance is looking to strengthen its presence in India’s commercial insurance market. The insurer has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to explore a partnership aimed at offering advanced insurance solutions for businesses.
The proposed collaboration, which is subject to regulatory approvals and final agreements, will focus on providing structured commercial insurance products to Indian companies. The companies plan to combine Bajaj General Insurance’s domestic market reach with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ global expertise in corporate risk management.
Focus On Global Business Risks
One of the key areas of the partnership is supporting Indian businesses that are expanding overseas. The companies will explore the use of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ International Programs platform to help firms manage insurance requirements across multiple countries. Businesses in sectors such as manufacturing and technology are expected to be among the key focus areas.
Commercial insurance protects businesses against risks such as property damage, liability claims, trade disruptions, credit risks and surety-related losses. Demand for such policies has been rising as more Indian companies expand globally and face increasingly complex operational risks.
Companies Aim To Expand Commercial Insurance Offerings
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is the commercial insurance business of the Swiss Re Group, while Bajaj General Insurance is one of India’s leading general insurers with products across retail and commercial segments. The companies said the partnership is intended to help businesses access broader insurance solutions for cross-border operations, supply chains and emerging business risks. The agreement marks another step in the growing focus on commercial insurance as Indian enterprises continue to expand beyond domestic markets.
