A teenager from Assam’s Karimganj district, Samrat Nath has invented a theft-proof electronic bicycle that can run 60 kilometres on a single charge. The e-bicycle is equipped with modern sensors and tracking tech that can detect thieves. The bicycle is powered by Lithium-ion batteries that were recycled from used laptops. The bike can cover 60 kilometres on a single charge with a maximum speed of 40. Nath is a student of Technology in Assam Rifles ITI. He said it took him four years to complete his childhood dream of inventing a bike on his own.
Nath said, “I have invented the smarty e-bike to escape from theft. It has great security features. If anyone tries to steal my bike then a message will immediately pop up on my smartphone and the theft alarm on the bike will start ringing.”The teenager said he can control the bike remotely and also track its live location.
Nath isn’t the only teenager from Assam who has made a praiseworthy invention this year.
Just a few days ago, another youth from the Karimganj district designed a sensor-enabled smart shoe for the visually impaired. Ankurit Karmakar invented a shoe that has a buzzer that goes off whenever the sensor detects an obstacle on the way. It is loud enough for the wearer to be alerted. The teenager, who aspires to become a scientist, said he wants to create more devices in the future that will help people and make their lives easier.
