New Delhi: Manish Desai, the Principal Director General of the Central Bureau of Communication, has been appointed the new Principal DG of the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
In his new role, the 1989-batch IIS officer will also be the Central Government’s principal spokesperson.
Desai assumed charge on September 1 from Rajesh Malhotra, who superannuated on August 31.
During his career spanning nearly three decades, Manish Desai has worked in various media entities of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, including DAVP, AIR News, Prasar Bharati, and the IIMC.
At the CBC, Desai has been replaced by Dhirendra Ojha, a 1990-batch IIS officer.
