New Delhi: Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer Muktesh Kumar Pardeshi, has been appointed Secretary of Consular Passport and Visa division and Overseas Indian Affairs (CPV & OIA) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Pardeshi, a senior diplomat and an IFS officer of the 1991-batch, is currently serving as the Special Secretary of G20 Operations, and headed the G20 Summit held recently in New Delhi.
Pardeshi will be replacing Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, an IFS officer from the 1989-batch, who is slated to retire on September 30, 2023.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet announced this new development through an official notification that read, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Muktesh Kumar Pardeshi (IFS: 1991), Special Secretary (G20 Operations) as Secretary (CPV and OIA), Ministry of External Affairs vice Dr Ausaf Sayeed upon his superannuation on 30.09.2023.”
