Mumbai: The government of Maharashtra transferred and appointed two IPS officers to very crucial posts. IPS officer Rashmi Shukla, of the 1988-batch, has been posted as the new Director General of Police (DGP) in Maharashtra.
She will be taking charge of Rajnish Seth, from the 1988-batch as well. Seth has been transferred to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) and posted as its new Chairman.
The post of the Chairman of MPSC had been laying vacant since the retirement of Kishorraje Nimbalkar, a 2003-batch IAS officer, on September 27. Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, three names were taken into consideration for this position, and Seth was ultimately chosen for the job.
Similarly, Shukla was tipped for the role of the next DGP of the state, and following the appointment of Seth into his new role, Shukla was selected to take charge of the state police force.
