Kolkata: The West Bengal government recently reshuffled eight IPS officers. Following are the changes made:
- IPS officer Sankha Subhra Chakrabarty, the former Joint CP, Crime in Kolkata Police, has been posted as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
- IPS officer Sudeep Sarkar, former DIG of Malda Range, has been appointed as the DIG, Personnel in the state police.
- IPS officer Prasun Bandopadhyay, previously the DIG of Raiganj range, now holds the additional charge of DIG, Malda Range.
- IPS officer Sudheer Kumar Neelakantam, former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the West Bengal Police Directorate (WBPD), has been posted as the DIG, Provisioning with Headquarter in Kurseong.
- IPS officer Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi, formerly the Inspector General (IG) of Jalpaiguri range, has been appointed as the IG of CID.
- IPS officer Rajesh Kumar Yadav, the former IG of North Bengal Region, has been transferred to the post of IG, CID.
- IPS officer David Ivan Lepcha, former Special Superintendent, CID with headquarters in Siliguri, is now the Commandant of the State Armed Police, 4th battalion.
- IPS officer Shiba Prasad Patra, who was the CO of SAP, 4th battalion, has been appointed Special Superintendent of CID and will replace David Ivan Lepcha.
