New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony for three semiconductor facilities valued at around ₹1.25 lakh crore, standing by the government’s commitment to make India a semiconductor manufacturing hub.
The three semiconductor projects launched during the ceremony include India’s inaugural Fab facility situated in Dholera, Gujarat, along with Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facilities in Sanand, Gujarat, and Morigaon, Assam.
In his address during the recently held ceremony, PM Modi said, “This is a historic day as we are taking a strong step towards a bright future.” He highlighted the significance of the ‘Made in India’ semiconductor chips, adding that they would lead India towards self-reliance and modernity.
