New Delhi: IAS officer S.K.G. Rahate, a former Union Secretary of the Department of Justice, has been appointed the Chairperson of the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) for a period of three years.
Rahate is an officer from the 1990 batch, Jharkhand cadre. He has served as the Secretary of the Legislative Department and the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of REC Limited, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Power. He recently retired from service and is set to take office next week.
AERA established under the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India Act, 2008, by the Government of India, regulates tariffs and other charges for aeronautical services provided at civilian airports in India.
