New Delhi: Dr B N Gangadhar, President of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board, has been named National Medical Commission (NMC) Chairperson.
The NMC and the autonomous boards currently have a number of new members appointed by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Dr BN Gangadhar is a psychiatrist who previously served as the director of the esteemed National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). With over 30 years of comprehensive experience in mental health from both clinical and academic perspectives, Dr Gangadhar is a Senior Professor of Psychiatry.
He completed his MD in 1982 after receiving his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College in 1978. He then joined NIMHANS as a faculty member.
