New Delhi: GAIL will inaugurate a new Natural Gas Meter Prover Facility at its site in Dibiyapur, Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh, in October. This facility is designed to support India’s gas-based economy by offering advanced calibration services for gas meters used by smaller consumers, including city gas distribution (CGD) entities and small industrial and commercial users.
The aim is to ensure accurate gas measurement, enhance gas management, and build consumer trust. The facility, developed with RMA Germany and certified by PTB Germany, will calibrate a range of gas meters, including Ultrasonic, Turbine, and Rotary Positive Displacement meters, with sizes from 2” to 6” and flow rates from 4-2500 m³/hr.
During a visit on August 23, 2024, Director (Projects) Deepak Gupta commended the team for their efforts in preparing the facility. The new center is expected to improve gas reconciliation and management across the sector.
