Jaipur: Zelestra, a Spanish renewable energy company, has announced that it has secured a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for its 450-MWp Anboto solar facility in Rajasthan. Following a competitive tendering process in January, the 25-year agreement was finalized with NTPC Ltd., India’s state-owned power producer.
It is anticipated that the project will be operational by the conclusion of 2025. Sajay K. V., CEO of Zelestra India, emphasized the company’s ambitious development strategy, stating that the successful acquisition of 1.5 GW of PPAs this year is a testament to Zelestra’s aggressive expansion in the Indian market. “We are well-positioned to surpass the expectations of our stakeholders due to our financial stability, strong local insights, and global capabilities,” he declared.
NTPC will acquire the complete output of the Anboto solar farm, which is estimated to be 801 GWh per year. Zelestra India has declared its intention to establish a project portfolio that exceeds 6 GW within the next three years. This objective is indicative of the company’s dedication to expanding its operations in one of the world’s most rapidly expanding renewable energy markets.
