Bangalore: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has entered a strategic partnership with Bangalore-based IONAGE to improve India’s electric vehicle (EV) charging network.
The collaboration aims to enhance accessibility to EV chargers across the country, a step towards supporting India’s goal of widespread EV adoption by 2030. Under this partnership, BPCL’s chargers will be integrated into IONAGE’s platform, which aims to incorporate over 100,000 chargers by 2028.
The agreement was signed by senior officials, including S. Kannan, Chief General Manager (Marketing) at BPCL, and Vimal Kumar, CEO of IONAGE. This initiative aligns with national efforts to boost EV infrastructure as part of the broader transition to clean energy and sustainable transportation.
With a growing need for public EV charging stations, this partnership addresses a critical gap in infrastructure that has hindered EV growth in the country. BPCL’s network expansion, combined with IONAGE’s tech-driven platform, could play a key role in supporting government policies and consumer demand for EVs.
This joint effort reflects a broader push to make EV charging more accessible and efficient, contributing to India’s evolving energy landscape.
