New Delhi: Ericsson has bagged four additional telecom circles from Vodafone Idea (VIL) for 4G and 5G deployment. This expands Ericsson’s footprint to cover Delhi, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.
The Swedish telecom giant will upgrade VIL’s 4G infrastructure and roll out 5G in these regions. Last month, VIL awarded a ₹30,000 crore contract to Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung for a three-year network upgrade and deployment.
Additionally, VIL replaced its Chinese vendor in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh with Nokia, which now handles over 50% of the company’s revenue-generating circles.
