New Delhi: Google has collaborated with Ekta Care, an accredited issuer of ABHA IDs, in order to make digital health cards accessible for Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID holders. Through this initiative, over 600 million ABHA ID holders will be able to access their health cards via Google Wallet by 2025.
ABHA IDs, a crucial part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), aim at digitizing healthcare services across the country. These IDs will allow the users to accumulate and manage their health data like prescriptions and lab reports in one place and share their health details with the healthcare providers. With this move by Google, ABHA ID holders will be able to view their health cards on smartphone devices. Users will need authentication via a pin, a fingerprint, or a passcode on Google Wallet to access their ABHA health cards. This will add an extra layer of security and protect users’ privacy.
Moreover, Google has also collaborated with multiple healthcare providers across the country to develop more than 800 health Knowledge Panels on Search, which are accessible in English and Hindi. According to Google’s officials, these health Knowledge Panels cover essential health issues, such as cancer, and diabetes, and mental health disorders like anxiety, dementia, and depression.
