Dehradun: The Uttarakhand Government IT infrastructure has been struck by an unexpected cyber attack, disabling over 90 government websites. This has disrupted various essential functions of the government, including the Chief Minister’s Helpline. In addition, the breach has compromised other vital services within the e-office systems in multiple districts, the land registry department, secretariats, and public offices.
According to the reports, the attack was advanced enough to breach the state’s most secure internet services and the main state data center. Nitesh Jha, Head of the State IT Department, activated emergency protocols in response to the attack. A team of cybersecurity experts led by IT Director Nitika Khandelwal has been tasked with assessing and mitigating the damage.
