New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has undertaken a major bureaucratic reshuffle in the Union Secretariat. According to the official notification, IAS Subrata Gupta (1990 batch), belonging to the West Bengal cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. He will replace IAS Anita Praveen (1989 batch), belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre, who will be superannuated on 30th November.
Apart from this, other officers who have been assigned new roles include:
IAS S Gopalakrishnan (1991 batch) from the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed the Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. He is the incumbent DG of the National Productivity Council (NPC) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Krishnan replaces IAS Rakesh Ranjan (1992 batch) from the Manipur cadre who took VRS effective from 31st October.
IAS Puneet Kumar Goel (1991 batch) from the AGMUT cadre, currently the Chief Secretary of Goa, has become the Secretary of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST).
IAS V Umashankar (1993 batch) from the Haryana cadre has taken over as the Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways replacing IAS Anurag Jain (1989 batch ) from the Madhya Pradesh cadre.
IAS Tanmay Kumar (1993 batch) from the Rajasthan cadre, the incumbent Special Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF & CC), has been appointed as the Secretary in the same ministry, replacing IAS Leena Nandan (1987 batch) from the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
IAS Vikram Dev Dutt (1993 batch) from the AGMUT cadre, previously holding the post of DG in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, has taken charge as the Secretary in the Ministry of Coal.
IAS Surendra Kumar Bagde (1993 batch) from the Maharashtra cadre has been appointed as DG of the National Centre for Good Governance in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. He was last posted as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
IAS Neerja Sekhar (1993 batch) from the Haryana cadre, currently the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been promoted (In-situ) as the Special Secretary.
