New Delhi: Amazon Web Services (AWS) India and the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) have announced a collaboration to support Indian cybersecurity startups and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) in leveraging generative AI. This initiative is aligned with the National Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity Technology Development (N-CoE), a joint effort between DSCI and the Ministry of Electronics and IT, aimed at advancing cybersecurity innovation and entrepreneurship in India. Startups incubated by DSCI and those exploring AI-driven solutions are encouraged to apply for this program.Â
The key features of the partnership include:
- The program will provide resources, training, and access to AWS’s advanced generative AI services, enabling startups to utilize advanced large language models (LLMs) and foundation models (FMs).Â
- Participants will gain expertise in rapid prototyping, scaling, and adhering to security and compliance standards.Â
- AWS and DSCI experts will mentor startups, offering insights into technical concepts and opportunities for commercialization and international market expansion through AWS Marketplace.
Vinayak Godse, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DSCI, stated that the organization is dedicated to helping startups enhance their innovation capabilities and marketability in cybersecurity. He emphasized that generative AI presents a significant opportunity for startups to advance product development. Through this initiative, startups will gain access to industry-leading LLMs, tools, infrastructure, services, and expertise from AWS, enabling them to augment their product capabilities. Godse also highlighted AWS’s reputation for providing cloud and AI technology that not only helps startups and ISVs develop cutting-edge products but also supports their scalability in global markets.
Sundar V.G., Director of Business Development at AWS India Private Limited, emphasized that security is a top priority for AWS, and building a secure cyberspace is essential to driving the growth of India’s digital economy. He stated that AWS is committed to fostering innovation in India’s cyberspace and views its collaboration with DSCI as an opportunity to empower builders with generative AI and catalyze cybersecurity advancements. Sundar described generative AI as a transformational technology with the potential to enhance cybersecurity by enabling development teams to better understand risks, prioritize security alerts, automate threat responses, deploy intelligent threat detection, and reduce product development costs.
