New Delhi: Blue Energy Motors Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra at the World Economic Forum in Davos to establish an electric truck manufacturing facility in the state. The Rs 3,500 crore investment aims to advance India’s electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing capabilities and support sustainable mobility initiatives.
Facility Details and Output
The upcoming facility will have the capacity to produce 30,000 electric trucks annually, with operations expected to begin by FY 2025-26. The plant will also include a battery-pack assembly line, a motor manufacturing unit, advanced research and development (R&D) capabilities, and charging infrastructure.
The project is anticipated to generate employment for over 4,000 individuals and contribute significantly to Maharashtra’s industrial ecosystem.
Focus on Green Mobility
Blue Energy Motors’ electric truck manufacturing aligns with its strategy to develop zero-emission solutions for commercial transportation. According to Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, the initiative represents a step toward reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change through green trucking technologies.
