New Delhi: Manish Raj Gupta has assumed the role of Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
A Mechanical Engineering graduate from MANIT Bhopal, Gupta began his journey with SAIL in 1991 as a Management Trainee (Technical) at Durgapur Steel Plant. With over three decades of experience in the steel industry, Gupta has excelled in various roles across SAIL’s plants and units, showcasing exceptional technical expertise, operational excellence, and leadership capabilities.
During his tenure at Durgapur Steel Plant, Gupta made significant strides in enhancing the efficiency and safety of the Steel Melting Shop. In 2019, he was elevated to Chief General Manager at Bokaro Steel Plant, where he spearheaded technology upgrades and modernization initiatives.
As Executive Director (Works) at IISCO Steel Plant, Gupta prioritized sustainability, cost optimization, and digital technology adoption. Later, at SAIL’s Corporate Office, he served as Executive Director in charge (Operations), focusing on operational efficiency and strategic coordination.
With a rich history of accomplishments, Gupta’s appointment is expected to strengthen SAIL’s technical and project initiatives, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization.
