Panaji: OYO has collaborated with the Goa Tourism Department to introduce an Accelerator Program aimed at empowering small-scale and first-generation hotel owners. This initiative seeks to foster business growth, generate employment, and promote sustainable tourism in the state. Goa’s Tourism Minister, Rohan A Khaunte, officially unveiled the program during a launch event held in Panaji.
The initiative aims to onboard over 300 properties across North, Central, and South Goa within the next year, creating more than 5,000 job opportunities statewide. During the ceremony, the minister awarded cheques totaling Rs. 25,00,000 to five selected beneficiaries, including hoteliers from Panjim, Calangute, and Madgaon, underscoring the state’s commitment to empowering the local hospitality sector.
The Accelerator Program is tailored to support first-time hoteliers with mentorship, financial assistance, and access to OYO’s vast network of over 15,000 corporate clients and 10,000 travel agents. The initiative also provides participants with advanced pricing tools to optimize profitability and expand their customer base.
Speaking at the launch, Khaunte emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism development and highlighted the program’s potential to strengthen Goa’s hospitality industry. The partnership reflects the government’s commitment to nurturing local entrepreneurship and driving sustainable tourism, ensuring long-term benefits for the state’s economy.
