Located in the Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ), the facility is a significant step towards bolstering India’s position in IT hardware manufacturing.

A Milestone in India’s Manufacturing Journey
Syrma SGS, a company under the PLI 2.0 scheme for IT hardware, has partnered with the Taiwanese technology giant Micro-Star International (MSI) to manufacture laptops.
This initiative marks a strategic transition for India from being a global leader in mobile phone manufacturing to making inroads into high-value IT hardware production. The facility underscores India’s commitment to reducing dependency on imports and achieving self-reliance in cutting-edge IT hardware.
Key Features of the New Facility

- Production Capacity: The Chennai facility will initially produce 100,000 laptops annually, with plans to scale up to one million units per year within the next 1-2 years, depending on market demand.

MSI Selects Syrma SGS for ‘Make in India’ Laptops
