Connectivity Projects
The Cabinet approved the construction of the Vindhya Expressway and the Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway, spanning 320 km and 100 km, respectively. These projects will connect Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra, linking the Ganga Expressway in Prayagraj to NH 39 in Sonbhadra. The expressways aim to strengthen the state’s existing network across the Paschimanchal, Madhyanchal, Purvanchal, and Bundelkhand regions, facilitating better connectivity and economic growth.

Healthcare Infrastructure
The Cabinet also approved projects to improve healthcare access by approving the selection of bidders to operate medical colleges under the public-private partnership (PPP) model in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat districts. This initiative aims to bring advanced healthcare services and medical education to underserved areas.
Additionally, the Cabinet decided to transfer the 166-bed Government Combined Hospital in Balrampur to the Medical Education Department. This move will pave the way for the establishment of an Autonomous State Medical College in Balrampur, affiliated with King George Medical University (KGMU). The college will provide specialized healthcare and educational opportunities, with the creation of 1,394 new academic and non-academic posts.

Technological Empowerment
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a project under the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana to distribute 25,00,000 smartphones to youth enrolled in higher education, technical education, health education, skill development training, and ITI programs. With a budget of Rs. 4,000 crore for the financial year 2024-25, the initiative will run for five years and aims to empower youth with digital tools to make them future-ready.
