New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Satyendra Kumar, a 2007-batch IPS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, as Director in NITI Aayog. The announcement was made following an official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
Kumar’s appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will be under the Central Staffing Scheme until September 24, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. His new role at NITI Aayog is expected to contribute to policy formulation and implementation at the central level.
This appointment follows the recent induction of Rajeev Singh Thakur, a 1995-batch IAS officer, also from the Rajasthan cadre, as an advisor in NITI Aayog. Thakur, who had completed his seven-year central deputation term, joined after a brief leave.
NITI Aayog, the government’s premier policy think tank, continues to strengthen its leadership with experienced officers from various administrative services, reinforcing its role in driving India’s policy and development agenda.
