New Delhi: Roche Pharma India has appointed Rajwinder (Rajji) Mehdwan as its new Country General Manager, effective April 1, 2025. She will replace V Simpson Emmanuel, who is stepping down due to personal reasons.
Mehdwan will oversee Roche Pharma’s operations in India and join the leadership team for the Central Eastern Europe, Turkey, Russia, and Indian Subcontinent (CEETRIS) region. She will report to Francois du Toit, Area Head of CEETRIS at Roche Pharmaceuticals.
With more than two decades of experience in the healthcare sector, Mehdwan has held leadership positions at Roche and Johnson & Johnson. Since joining Roche in 2010, she has worked in various roles, including General Manager for Roche Pharma Norway and Portfolio Strategy Director for Denmark.
Global Experience in Healthcare and Pharma
Most recently, Mehdwan led Roche’s People & Culture division for its Pharma International Business, overseeing operations in over 100 markets. She has also served as Chairwoman and Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Norway and was a Board Member of the Norway Pharmaceutical Industry Association.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Government College for Women, Ludhiana, a Registered Nursing Degree from the Royal Free Hospital, London, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Strategic Focus on India’s Healthcare Sector
Commenting on her appointment, Francois du Toit said Mehdwan’s experience and leadership will play a key role in Roche’s India strategy. “Her deep understanding of healthcare ecosystems and global markets will help strengthen Roche’s position in India,” he stated.
Roche Pharma India acknowledged V Simpson Emmanuel’s contributions since 2020 and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.
