Mumbai: Sophos, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, has completed the acquisition of Securworks valued at approximately $859 million. With this acquisition, Secureworks’ common stock has ceased trading on Nasdaq. With this acquisition, Sophos, backed by leading software investment firm Thoma Bravo, has solidified its position as the foremost cybersecurity provider specializing in Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services.
Significance of the Acquisition
Sophos X-Ops, the company’s dedicated cybersecurity intelligence unit, is significantly bolstering its capabilities through this acquisition. The addition of Secureworks’ Counter Threat Unit, along with its security operations and advisory teams, strengthens Sophos’ ability to counter emerging cyber threats with deeper global telemetry and expert-driven threat research.
With Secureworks now part of Sophos, the company’s expanded services and product portfolio will offer end-to-end security solutions, including identity threat detection and response (ITDR), next-generation Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and managed risk solutions, all within a single open platform. Additionally, Sophos plans to advance its AI, threat intelligence, and attack research capabilities by leveraging more diverse and deeper cybersecurity insights.
