Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has launched a new tourism policy that aims to position the state as a top destination for both domestic and international travellers. The tourism identity of the state has been rebranded with the theme Arunachal: Beyond Myths and Mountains.
A new logo for Arunachal tourism was also launched, featuring turquoise mountains and an orange arc for the rising sun. This represents Arunachal Pradesh as the Land of the Dawn-lit Mountains.
The new tourism policy focuses on experiential tourism, highlighting areas like farm tourism, wine tourism, wellness and spiritual tourism, adventure tourism, film tourism, eco tourism, tribal tourism, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism and border tourism.
The policies and the initiatives under that would focus on promotion, sustainability, cultural preservation and economic opportunities for local communities.
The new tourism policy positions Arunachal Pradesh as a world-class tourism destination, preserving its pristine landscapes, rich tribal culture and unique biodiversity while promoting sustainable tourism and community empowerment.
The government expects the new tourism policy to double the number of domestic tourists and achieve a 10-fold jump in the number of international tourists.
