Guwahati: IIT Guwahati and AIIMS Guwahati will collaborate to launch a four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) program in Biomedical Science and Engineering.
Introduced by the Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology at IIT Guwahati, this course offered also in collaboration with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER) Guwahati will mark a significant step in interdisciplinary education.
The program integrated engineering, medical sciences and pharmacology and is aimed to nurture future biomedical engineers who can lead advancements in healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
The application process starts on 25 April and will be active for one month. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of 75 per cent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology for Class 12 (or equivalent) examinations in 2024 or 2025.
Candidates who have cleared the IISER Aptitude Test 2025 are also eligible to apply.
The curriculum leverages genomics, AI, 3D printing and nanotechnology to create biomedical innovators.
