Kohima: Nagaland University researchers have developed an AI-driven educational model designed to provide individualized instruction.
The new proposed framework by the Nagaland University, called Flexible Learning System (FLS), integrated Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) to facilitate real-time adaptive learning within Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS).
Field trials conducted by the researchers at Nagaland University’s School of Engineering & Technology demonstrated a 94 per cent reduction in task processing time. This allows for real-time responses that can optimize the learning experience.
According to Prof Jagadish K Patnaik, VC, Nagaland University the proposed system will help students navigate courses effectively by providing content aligned with their level of understanding.
The FLS identifies learners based on their performance and tailors content accordingly. This ensures the students progress through courses with easy, moderate or advanced content suited to their individual capabilities.
The FLS optimize network bandwidth and processing tasks, thereby fostering stronger interactions between students and instructors.
Looking forward, the model will incorporate IoT to further enhance learning insights. Additional integration of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will enable immersive educational experiences.
