Dehradun: Uttarakhand’s Special Task Force (STF) has launched ‘Operation Prahar’ to tackle rising cyber fraud, targeting organized digital scams across multiple states.
Multi-State Operation Targets Cyber Fraudsters
STF Uttarakhand has intensified its crackdown on cybercrime, leading to legal action against six individuals involved in online financial fraud. The operation extended beyond state borders, with raids conducted in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Authorities revealed that the suspects were linked to digital arrest scams, phishing schemes, and fraudulent financial activities that deceived citizens.
Government’s Cyber Crime Response Measures
In response to the growing threat of digital fraud, the government has strengthened security measures. The Chakshu Portal, integrated into the Sanchar Saathi platform, has been introduced to help identify and block fraudulent mobile connections. Citizens can also report cyber fraud through the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930).
Focus on Cybersecurity and Future Crackdowns
STF officials emphasized that ‘Operation Prahar’ is part of an ongoing effort to dismantle cybercrime networks and enhance digital security. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to prevent financial fraud.
With cyber threats becoming more sophisticated, law enforcement agencies are expected to intensify operations and improve cybersecurity infrastructure to protect users from evolving digital scams.
