New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 and 12 board exam results for 2025 on 13 May. The results are available on the official CBSE portal and the DigiLocker app.
This year’s data shows a marginal rise in overall pass percentages for both classes compared to last year.
A total of 17,04,367 students had registered for the Class 12 exams. Of these, 16,92,794 appeared and 14,96,307 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 88.39 per cent, up from 87.98 per cent in 2024. Exams were conducted between 15 February and 18 March.
For Class 10, 23,71,939 students appeared out of 23,85,079 registered, with 22,21,636 students passing. The pass rate stood at 93.66 per cent, a slight improvement from 93.60 per cent in 2024.
In total, over 44 lakh students appeared for the board exams across India; 24.12 lakh in Class 10 and 17.88 lakh in Class 12.
Digital Access Through DigiLocker
CBSE has issued six-digit access PINs for students to retrieve their digital marksheets, migration certificates and school leaving certificates via DigiLocker.
These access codes have been distributed to schools, which are responsible for sharing them with individual students.
In 2024, the Class 12 pass percentage was 87.98 per cent, and Class 10 was 93.60 per cent. Girls had outperformed boys in both categories, continuing a multi-year trend. CBSE is expected to release a detailed gender and regional performance breakdown in the coming days.
CBSE’s 2025 board results reflect stable academic performance with minor year-on-year gains. As digital access to academic records becomes standard, attention shifts toward post-result academic planning and institutional readiness.
