Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has cleared 19 new industrial projects worth Rs 3,898.54 crore, aiming to drive investments across key sectors and generate 7,464 jobs.
The State-Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, approved the proposals on Friday. The projects span multiple sectors such as steel, industrial gases, logistics, agro-processing, tourism, and chemicals, and are spread across 11 districts including Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Khurda, and Jajpur.
The steel and ferro alloys sector received the highest investment approvals, with four major projects totaling Rs 1,840 crore. TATA Steel will invest Rs 700 crore to expand its crude steel capacity in Dhenkanal from 6.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA. In Keonjhar, Sree Metaliks Ltd plans to invest Rs 885 crore to scale up its integrated steel plant.
Other significant manufacturing projects include a Rs 200 crore precision tube plant by Lal Baba Seamless Tubes Pvt Ltd in Cuttack and a Rs 55 crore railway component manufacturing unit by Surlon India Ltd in Sundargarh. Linde India Ltd will set up an air separation unit in Jajpur at a cost of Rs 425 crore. This facility is projected to produce over 12 lakh tonnes of industrial gases annually. In Ganjam, ACME Clean Energy Pvt Ltd plans a jetty-less floating terminal with an investment of Rs 366.5 crore, while a Rs 134.5 crore logistics park will come up in Khurda by Vasanth Vihar Constructions.
