Lucknow: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 11 senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state. The latest round of postings aims to strengthen law enforcement leadership in key regions. According to the official notification, IPS Tarun Gauba (2001 batch), presently Police Commissioner, Prayagraj Commissionerate, is transferred and appointed as Inspector General of Police (IG) – Lucknow Range, Lucknow, UP Police.
The list of other notable transfers is as follows:
- IPS Ashutosh Kumar (2001 batch): Transferred from IG, PAC HQRS, Lucknow; appointed as Additional Police Commissioner – Kanpur Commissionerate, UP Police.
- IPS Upendra Kumar Agarwal (2005 batch): Transferred from IG, Lucknow Range; appointed as IG – Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) HQRS, Lucknow, UP Police.
- IPS Jogendra Kumar (2007 batch): Transferred from IG, Kanpur Range; appointed as Police Commissioner – Prayagraj Commissionerate, Prayagraj, UP Police.
- IPS Sanjeev Tyagi (2010 batch): Transferred from ACP, Police Commissionerate Agra; appointed as DIG – Prisons Administration & Reforms, Lucknow, UP Police.
- IPS Pradeep Gupta (2010 batch): Transferred from DIG, Telecom, Lucknow; appointed as IG – Prisons Administration & Reforms, Lucknow, UP Police.

- IPS Ramesh Prasad Gupta (2014 batch): Transferred from SP, Logistics, Lucknow; appointed as Commandant – 24th BN, PAC, Muradabad, UP Police.
- IPS Amit Kumar (2015 batch): Transferred from Commandant – 24th BN, PAC, Muradabad; appointed as Commandant – 35th BN, PAC, Lucknow, UP Police.
