New Delhi: Renewable energy company WattPower has partnered with Solarium Green Energy to boost solar energy deployment in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The partnership will focus on rural areas, especially agricultural regions, under the central government’s PM-KUSUM scheme aimed at promoting solar-powered irrigation.
Deployment through regional collaboration
As part of the agreement, Solarium Green Energy has been appointed as a Value-Added Partner for WattPower. Solarium will lead local deployment and last-mile connectivity in the two states, while WattPower will supply modular, grid-compatible solar systems designed for remote and challenging terrains.
The collaboration is structured to strengthen decentralised solar electrification efforts for farmers and micro-enterprises. The companies aim to bridge gaps in energy access, particularly in regions where grid connectivity remains limited or unreliable.
Aligning with national clean energy initiatives
The joint effort aligns with the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM), which promotes the use of solar energy for irrigation in rural India. The scheme encourages private and public sector participation to expand solar pump installations and reduce dependence on diesel-powered systems.
Divya Prakash Choraria, CEO and Co-Founder of WattPower, noted that while the two firms have previously worked together, the new formalised agreement will help scale up impact. “Given the market potential in these states, this partnership enables us to expand community-level solar adoption,” he said.
Ankit Garg, Founder and CEO of Solarium, pointed to local expertise and regional presence as key factors in executing rural projects. “Our goal is to support adoption by addressing ground-level challenges that often hinder solar deployment in remote areas,” he said.
