Panchkula: Anant Raj Limited has operationalised a new 7 MW data center facility in Panchkula, Haryana, under its digital infrastructure division, Anant Raj Cloud. This is the company’s second active data center in the state after its Manesar facility, and it forms part of a larger plan to significantly scale up capacity in North India over the next decade.
According to recent filings with the stock exchange, Anant Raj has now added a total of 28 MW capacity across its two sites in Haryana, 7 MW at the newly launched Panchkula facility and a capacity upgrade from 6 MW to 21 MW at its Manesar center. The two data centers are positioned within Haryana’s growing digital infrastructure corridor.
The expansion is part of Anant Raj’s broader ‘Bharat Built: Soil to Server’ initiative, under which it plans to deliver 310 MW of total data center capacity by 2032. The company has committed Rs 180 billion (approximately USD 2.1 billion) towards this infrastructure buildout.
India’s data center industry is experiencing fast-paced growth, but a gap between supply and projected demand remains a concern. A thematic report by Avendus Capital estimates that while the country’s total data center capacity may reach 3 GW by 2030, demand could cross 6 GW by 2033, leaving a gap of more than 1.5 GW.
With its upcoming 200 MW hyperscale campus planned in Rai, Anant Raj positions itself as a regional player focused on addressing this projected shortfall in North India.
According to Anant Raj Managing Director Amit Sarin, the data center business is expected to contribute over 40% of the company’s revenues within the next four years, up from its current contribution of around 5%.
