Lucknow: India-based gaming platform WinZO is scaling its Global Center of Excellence (GCoE) in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to strengthen the country’s interactive entertainment ecosystem. Initially launched in November 2024 in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the expanded initiative will provide over 2,000 startups with access to cloud-based tools, mentorship, and global market exposure.
The GCoE will focus on integrating generative AI (Gen AI) into gaming workflows, enabling developers to accelerate content creation, localize gameplay, and enhance player experiences. AWS technologies such as Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker will be used to automate game testing, deliver multilingual support, and personalize recommendations based on user behavior.
Beyond technology, the initiative addresses India’s gaming skills gap. Through AWS Training and Certification, WinZO will offer structured learning programs to game developers, helping them adapt to rapidly evolving tools and development practices. Members will also benefit from the AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance, designed to align skilling efforts with workforce demand.
In addition, early-stage gaming startups will gain access to AWS accelerator programs, offering cloud credits, technical mentorship, and support in go-to-market strategies. WinZO will also continue to run initiatives like WinZO IGNITE, a hackathon series aimed at solving real-world gaming tech challenges, which will expand to global participants in future editions.
This collaboration aims to support India’s broader goal of becoming a global hub for game development and talent.
